The 2008 American Idol Finalists, and winner David Cook were on Larry King Live Monday night answering viewer questions. Also included are the other season 7 finalists.

David Cook Wins!
Host Ryan Seacrest called it “the closest competition we’ve seen”, bring in a record number of votes, almost 100 million.
Tuesday night on idol was a head to head competition of the two un-disputed best, David and David. They each got to sing three songs, Clive’s choice, a new song from the competition, and their choice. After each of the three songs, the judges gave the round to David Archuleta, calling the competition a “knock out”. Good thing the fans get to decide!!!
Fast-forward to Wednesday night. I can’t even imagine waiting 24 hours to have my fate decided by America! The results show was filled with lots of performances from the top 12, hey…they had two hours to fill, they needed something. I actually liked a lot of the songs. DA and DC were forced to wait the entire 2 hour show to get the long awaited results. Seacrest told America that the winning David had over 12 million votes to his advantage, but who would it be.
I don’t think Seacrest could have hung on the word “David” any longer before finally yelling “COOK”. I for one, screamed with excitement. And David Cook, so sweet, started crying, and was at a loss for words. He then got to sing the winning song from the competition (written by Regie Hamm), which will also be his first single, The Time of My Life.

Well there is one good thing about making it to the top 3, you get to go home!!! David Cook is visiting Kansas City today, and will participate in a number of promotional appearances. He will perform a free show at the Power and Light District, make an appearance on the Fox 4 Morning Show, be in a parade held in his honor, and throw out the first pitch at the Royals game.
In case you live in a hole, American Idol Season 7 is almost over! This week David Archuleta, David Cook, and Syesha go at it. Now I think Syesha has made AMAZING progress over the last several weeks, but I am not sure if it is enough to knock out the two Davids.
Each finalist has to sing three songs. I like this week because, I love when Randy, Simon and Paul, the American Idol judges, pick songs for the contestants. Round 2 is contestant’s choice, and round 3 is producer’s choice.
Paula picked for Archuleta, having hiim sing a Billy Joel song, “And So It Goes”. Round 2 David picket “With You” by Chris Brown as his choice, and round 3 he sang Dan Fogelberg’s “Longer”.

Randy picked for Syesha, having her sing “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys. Syesha then sang “Fever” by Peggy Lee, as her pick. Lastly, the Producer’s picked “Hit Me Up” by Gia Farrell.

Simon picked for Cook, having him sing “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Leona Lewis. Round 2 he sang Switchfoot’s “Dare You to Move”, and in round 3 he rocked out on “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”.

I have to admit, this American Idol Season has been so good! And I really think all three contestants are going to have a career in music. You can download all the music from tonights performance at itunes, and watch videos there too of all the American Idol 2008 contestants!

Ok, so we are down to four contestants on this season of American Idol, David Cook, David Archuleta, Jason Castro, and Syesha Mercado. Each contestant sang 2 songs, and the show didn’t disappoint. Idol contestant David Cook sang “Hungry Like The Wolf” and “Baba O’Riley”. Idol contestant David Archuleta sang “Stand By Me” and “Love Me Tender”. Jason Castro sang, “My Tambourine Man” and “I Shot the Sheriff”.
Overall results, David Archuleta seems to always do good according to the judges. David Cook got mixed reviews, Syesha mixed reviews, and Jason Castro, they wanted to send home.
